The folks over at STRANGE HORIZONS have put together a nice little ensemble piece of their reviewers high points and low points of the year (myself included).
On the plus side, I'm glad that a number of the other reviewers agreed with me about Torchwood being attrocious. I went over to SFX magazine's forums and it's popular enough to be in with a chance of winning their reader's choice award for best TV. So it's not just me then...
On the minus side, I'm sad to see that I'm the only person who chose End of the World Blues as their favourite book, but come the awards season, I'm sure I'll be vindicated. As long as it's not the SFX reader's choice awards... they'll probably give Best Book to Mein Kampf or the November issue of Cat Monthly.
The only thing I'm kicking myself over is Iain Phipps' nomination of Dr. Who's The Girl in the Fireplace (written by Steven Moffat). Great catch Iain, that episode was so good, it completely renewed my faith in the new Dr. Who. It had more great moments in it than the entire second series of Battlestar Galactica.
