This morning, we launched a new online magazine devoted to the very best in intelligent writing about science fiction, fantasy and horror.
The first update includes reviews of Hal Duncan's Ink, The Merchant and the Alchemist's Gate by Ted Chiang and Gradisil by Adam Roberts. It also includes an interview with Charles Stross, a guest editorial by veteran cyberpunk author Pat Cadigan and a column about the relationship between SF and music by Adam Roberts.
I'd like to thank all the people who have either submitted pieces to us or pledged their future services and pay tribute to the tireless work of my co-editor Gabe Chouinard. It's been fun getting this thing off the ground but the best thing is that I know what we've got coming and this really is just the beginning.
It lives!
There's an email from me in the Scalpel inbox.
Btw, I read your "top ten British horror" piece in VideoVista. Good stuff, it has given me a few more rentals on my Lovefilm queue. But I wanted to say cheers for including 'the Woman in Black', as I didn't know there had been a TV production of it, and 'Whistle and I'll Come to You' as I didn't know it was out on DVD.

The Woman in Black is a proper cult film. The people who own the rights are sitting on it, refusing to let it come out officially on DVD (or at least, they were a while ago) so it was only available as a bootleg or a download if you could catch it.
Thanks for the praise regarding the Videovista piece. You should also have a look at my 10 most disturbing films, there's some good rental fodder there too.
I should do another of those pieces really as I really enjoyed doing them.
